Iran and Gambia underscored the need to expand bilateral ties particularly in the fields of agriculture and industry.
In a meeting of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Gambian counterpart, Yahya Jammeh in the Gambian capital Banjul, the two sides vowed to broaden economic relations and expedite the implementation of previously signed agreements.
A high ranking economic delegation from Iran, headed by Industries and Mines Minister Ali-Akbar Mehrabian, accompanied the president in the visit to Gambia on Sunday, the Mehr news agency reported.
