The French company Thales will install a radar station in Poti under an agreement to be signed with Gruzavianavigatsiya.
The sides will sign the agreement during Gruzavianavigatsiya head Georgy Karbelashvili's visit to Paris today.
The new radar is planned for installation in August 2010. A state-of-the-art radar devise, the equipment will ensure air safety.
The radar will allow Georgia to meet international radar standards and strengthen the country's transit status.
Radars are a significant component of managing air space.
