Uzbekistan reduces tax rate on enterprise profits

Uzbekistan reduced the basic tax rate on enterprise profits to nine percent for 2010.

President Islam Karimov signed a decree on macroeconomic indicators and the Uzbek 2010 state budget to approve the tax rate.

The country approved the tax rate on income from commercial banks at 15 percent and income from auctions and entertainment services at 35 percent.

Based on the document, the single tax rate applied to micro and small enterprises, which is paid instead of an aggregate tax, will fall to seven percent.

The Uzbek state budget revenues for 2010 were approved at 13.116 trillion sum, including revenue from direct taxes amounting to 3.421 trillion sum (almost 26 percent). In 2009, budget revenues from direct taxes were approved to the amount of 24.7 percent of the income.
