Turkmenistan plans to establish direct rail and highway connections between Lebap and Dashoguz on the border with Uzbekistan, an official Turkmen source reported.
The project is already preapred to construct a railway line between Gazojak through Shahsenem in Dashoguz. Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov approved the project, noting "its importance in the context of direct transportation links between Lebap and Dashoguz provinces and their administrative centers."
A project to build a highway or road linking the two regional centers - Turkmenabat and Dashoguz - will also be submitted for consideration in the near future.
At the last government meeting, Berdimuhammedov focused on the need to further improve and modernize transport infrastructure.
