The Azerbaijani LLC "SW Helicopter Services" purchased one passenger (in the VIP kit) and three transport helicopters Mi-171, produced by JSC "Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant (Russia), Company's general director Rovshan Aliyev said today.
He said the new helicopters will be involved in activities of the companies operating in the oil and gas sector in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. In particular, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) will support oil and gas operations in the offshore field via using these helicopters. The new aircrafts are equipped with all necessary equipment, including the most advanced navigation system.
The helicopters are adapted for the carriage of goods, equipment, passengers and shift teams, including offshore drilling rigs. They can also be used for patrolling and monitoring of oil pipelines, RBC reported.
Mi-171 helicopter is a deep modernization of the Mi-8. It is developed by the Moscow Helicopter Plant. The helicopter produced at the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant. More than 500 Mi-171 helicopters in various versions and variants operate throughout the world.
LLC "SW Helicopter Services" is the largest airline company operating in the area of small aircraft in the territory of Azerbaijan. The company was registered as a legal entity March 18, 2008, and has a license and certificate of operation issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of Azerbaijan.
