One job falls to five people in Azerbaijan

The number of economically active population was 4 333.7 people in Azerbaijan April 1. About 4 073.8 people are involved in different sectors of the economy and social sphere of the country, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee reported.

The number of people employed in the first quarter amounted to 1.3761 million people, including the public sector - 832.500 people, private sector - 480.300 people.

About 19.3 percent are involved in production, including 2.6 percent in mining, 5.7 percent - the area of processing, 2.2 percent - electricity, gas, 1.6 percent - water, purification of waste water and emissions, 4.4 percent - the construction, 2.8 percent - Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

About 26.2 percent work in education, 20.2 percent - the wholesale and retail sales, car repairs, household goods, 10.1 percent - the social sector and health, 5.6 percent - transport, communications, storage economy, 4.1 percent - public management and conservation, compulsory social security, 4 percent - leisure, entertainment and the arts, 3.1 percent - the scientific and technical activities, 1.8 percent - information and communications, 1.5 percent - the financial and insurance activities and others.

The number of people officially received the status of unemployed amounted to 40.800 people, about 43.7 percent - women. One job falls to five people in Azerbaijan. The average rate of unemployment in Azerbaijan is 165.8 manat.
