Uzbekistan increases surcharge rate for foreign vehicles

The Uzbek government raised the stakes of an additional fee for the entry of foreign vehicles crossing the state border between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

According to the decree, the rate is increased by $ 90 from the previous $ 50 for commercial vehicles and buses of Tajikistan.

The rate for trucks carrying up to 10 tons and buses with 12 seats from Turkmenistan will hit $35 compared to the previous $ 20.

The rate for trucks with capacity from 10 tons and more and buses with 12 or more seats will hit $ 55 compared to 30.  

The rate of surcharge is increased by $ 175 from $ 100 for trucks and buses of other foreign countries.


The previous rate of surcharge was in force since January 1, 2009.

An additional fee for entry and transit to every foreign vehicle is paid in freely convertible currency directly at the customs posts of checkpoints across the state border between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

Surcharge does not apply to vehicles of foreign states with which the Republic of Uzbekistan has concluded international treaties.
