Chairman of the Board of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) Elman Rustamov, received the delegation headed by the World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus Asad Alam to discuss the process of preparing a strategy for the WB cooperation with Azerbaijan Country Partnership Strategy, the CBA said.
The meeting discussed ways to prepare a strategy for cooperation in the country, covering the years 2011-2014, as well as the course of execution of the current portfolio of WB. The meeting was also attended by WB manager on Azerbaijan Gregory Yedzheychak and chief economist of the Bank Christos Kostopulos.
World Bank Regional Director welcomed the level of relationship with Azerbaijan and noted the need for continuation of incremental programs implemented in the country. He also highly appreciated the activity of WB in Azerbaijan's banking sector.
According to Rustamov, the WB cooperation strategy has vital importance for both sides.
