Azerbaijan, SECO sign agriculture agreement

The Azerbaijani government and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) signed an agreement in Baku Monday to implement a project to enhance the capacity of IDPs residing in new settlements in the Agdam region. The project will be realized under the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

The Azerbaijani government and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) signed an agreement in Baku Monday to implement a project to enhance the capacity of IDPs residing in new settlements in the Agdam region. The project will be realized under the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

The project costs $1.75 million; $1.495 million will be provided by the Swiss government and $255,000 by the Azerbaijani government.

The project aims to maintain a solid revenue base for IDPs by increasing their agricultural capacity.

The project will be implemented in 22 new settlements and villages in Agdam region and will cover 22,000 people.
