The operation of seven docks in Pars Port Complex and investment in the port's development plans were transferred to the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) on Tuesday.

The complex is located at Pars Special Economic Zone (PSEEZ) in Bushehr province, southwest of Iran.

IRISL Managing Director Mohammad-Hossein Dajmar and PSEEZ Managing Director Mousa Souri signed a contract, according to which the IRISL will be in charge of operating the Pars Port Complex and investing in its development plans for 15 years. The contract can be extended in 5-year periods.

In the first five year IRISL is supposed to invest 400 billion rials (some $40 million) in the port in order to complete and equip the port's infrastructures and establishments.

Once the Pars Port Complex becomes fully operational, 1,000 direct and indirect job opportunities will be created.

The PSEEZ has been allocated 100 square kilometers of land at Assalouyeh for the various complexes and facilities. The site is a collection of different plants and refineries (known as "phases").
