Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the application of the bill "On amendments and changes" to the Law of the Azerbaijan Republic on traffic rules and code of administrative offenses, the AzerTaj state news agency reported.
The Cabinet of Ministers was tasked to prepare proposals to comply the existing legal acts in conformity with the law "On making amendments and addenda to the law of the Azerbaijan Republic" On the rules of traffic movement and code of administrative offences" within two months.
Under the amendments, speed is limited to 20 km / h (60 km / h.erlier) in residential areas and courtyards.
Under the bill, drivers talking on mobile phone while driving will be fined 50 manat. Driver violating the law on non-working days will pay the fine set by the authorized employee of road inspection. Under the changes, which include age restrictions on the right to drive vehicles, a person under 14 years does not has the right to ride bicycles on the roads.
Only persons aged at least 16 years may drive mopeds, bicycles, equipped with outboard motors, and vehicles in category "A1". The right to drive in categories "A", "B" and "C" will have individuals who are at least 18 years of age, the category "BE" - at least 19 years.
Under the changes, vehicle can not pass on the left side of the road if the right is free. This provision is applied to roads outside the settlements.
Under the bill, people are allowed to hang curtains in cars and buses, if outside rear-view mirror exists in both sides. A film or blinds of the factory production are allowed in car's rear windows.
Based on new changes, taxis do not have the right to stop at bus stops to take orders.
The military is given the right to drive vehicles of categories CE, D and DE only when they reach the age of 19 years.
