Foreign investments to Azerbaijani economy ups by 34 percent

Great Britain continues to keep leading positions on amount of investments to Azerbaijan. Weight of the country in amount of foreign investments hit 46.2 percent in January-June 2010, state statistical committee said. British investments hit 371.3 million manat.  Total volume of the foreign investment increased during the year at 34.4 percent, up to 803.22 million manat.

Roughly 91.5 percent (735.3 million manat) of investments of foreign countries and the international organizations to the Azerbaijani economy fall on share of investors from Great Britain, the USA, Japan, Norway, Turkey and Korea.

The investments by the U.S. totaled 165.9 million manat (with weight of 20.6 percent), Japan - 86.89 million manat (10.8 percent), Norway - 53.8 million manat (6.7 percent), Turkey - 42.62 million manat (5.3 percent), Korea - 14.77 million manat (1.9 percent), Czechia - 4.24 million manat (0.6 percent), Saudi Arabia - 2.63 million manat (0.3 percent), Russia - 1.94 million manat (0,2 percent), France- 1.03 million manat (0.1 percent), Austria - 551,800 manat (0.1 percent) and UAE - 390, 600 manat (0.1 percent).

The biggest amount of investments was allocated by WB in amount of 43.006 million manat with weight of 5.4 percent. WB projects cover different spheres of the country's economic life.

Asian Development Bank allocated 11.46 million manat (1.4 percent) and the  Islamic Development Bank - 2.435 million manat (0.3 percent) for realization of projects in Azerbaijan.
