In June, the capitalization of the banking sector in Azerbaijan increased by 0.6 per cent, and since the beginning of the year - by 2.7 percent amounting to 2058.35 billion manat, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) said.
According to the CBA's statistics, the number of banks with capital exceeding 10 million manat increased from 41 as of June 2009 to 42 banks at the end of June 2010. The share of this category of banks in total capital of all banks in June increased from 98.3 percent to 98.4 percent.
Three banks (with share of 1.2 percent) formed capital within from five million to 10 million manat, one bank (0.2 percent) - from 3.5 million to five million manat, and one bank (0.2 percent) paid it in the range to 3.5 million manat.
