The Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry's Research Institute for Economic Reforms launched a training course this week to improve knowledge of macroeconomic modeling. The event is held as part of a USAID-backed program to support trade and investment reform.
The director of the institute, Vilayat Veliyev, spoke about continuing efforts to strengthen the organization's scientific potential and the importance of studying international experience at the event's opening ceremony.
Meanwhile, U.S. Professor Mitch Mokhtari stressed the need to train more highly qualified personnel to conduct macroeconomic equilibrium modeling. He added that this week's training will increase participants' knowledge of macroeconomic analysis and forecasting, and also improve methodological framework in this area.
The training will run from Aug. 9 to 20. Twenty experts will participate.
