Azerbaijan issues 5,712 certificates for exported goods for 7 months

The State Service of Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Protection under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development seized 824.1 tons of expired products in January-July 2010, the Ministry said.

During the reporting period about 1,122 trading facilities and canteens were checked.

"Meat and meat products, sugar, honey, confectionery products, fish products, animal fats, canned foods, soft drinks, milk and milk products were confiscated," a message said.

About 182.1 tons of food was destroyed.

During the reporting period about 362.6 tons of expired goods, including detergents and cleaners, cosmetics, cement, etc. were revealed. About 14.3 tons of goods were destroyed.

Moreover, a fine worth 1423.900 manat was imposed in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offences.

During this period, about 5712 certificates were issued for export of Azerbaijani goods (including 412 certificates for exports to countries belonging to the generalized program of Preferences (GSP).

On August 12, the official exchange rate is 0.8037 manat to $1.
