Azerbaijan's industrial production hits 16.2 billion manat in January-July

In January-July of 2010, the amount of industrial production in Azerbaijan hit 16.2 billion manat, which is 3.2 percent higher than the same period of 2009, the State Statistics Committee reported.

In January-July of 2010, the amount of industrial production in Azerbaijan hit 16.2 billion manat, which is 3.2 percent higher than the same period of 2009, the State Statistics Committee reported.

The amount of production in the extractive industry increased by 1.8 percent to 12.47 billion manat (with weight 76.8 percent).The specific weight of the processing industry hit 17.9 percent, gas and power engineering - 4.7 percent and water sector - 0.6 percent.

The amount of the oil production by AIOC increased 2.3 percent and amounted to 24.8 million tons and gas production increased by 0.1 percent and amounted to 6.1 billion cubic meters.

During this period, share of the private sector increased by 2 percent and hit 82.1 percent of the total industry production.

The amount of the production in processing industry increased by 9.8 percent and amounted to 2902.9 million manat. During the reported period, significant growth was observed in food products production. The production of pasta in the country increased by 12.5 percent to 8,500 tons, meat - 3.9 percent (143,700 tons), milk - 3 percent (370,800 tons), butter - 0.9 percent (12,200 tons), and jams and preserves - at 3.2 percent (4,300 tons), vegetable oil - 26.6 percent (25,400 tons).
