Kazakhstan, Astana, Nov. 4 / Trend A. Muratov /
Astana plans to open the Trading House "Turkmenistan" in 2011, Turkmenistan ambassador to Kazakhstan Makhtumkuli Akmuradov told Trend.
"Next year Astana plans to open the Trading House "Turkmenistan", which will sell the famous Turkmen carpets and Turkmen textiles products," Akmuradov said.
According to him, an idea of opening of the Trading House "Turkmenistan" in Astana, as well as the opening of the Trading House "Kazakhstan" in Ashgabat has long been discussed within the intergovernmental commissions on trade and economic cooperation.
"The opening of trading houses in the capitals of the two countries could promote the growth of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan," the Turkmen diplomat said.
He also noted that the oil and gas sphere is priority for cooperation.
"A striking example of the increased level of cooperation is the Trans-Asian gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China with capacity of 40 billion cubic meters per year, which provides a mutually beneficial economic interest and energy security in Asia," Akmuradov said.
Akmuradov also reminded about a project of construction of the Transcontinental pipeline "Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran" with access to the Persian Gulf, which will open more opportunities for cooperation in the transport sector.
