Today, Russia is one of the largest economic partners of Turkmenistan. The volume of trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $1,857 million for 8 months, Turkmen Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the Russian Federation Khalnazar Agakhanov said.

"The Russian business confidently joined the intensively developing Turkmen market. There are about 120 enterprises with Russian capital in Turkmenistan. The multi-million dollar contracts are successfully implemented between the Turkmen and Russian companies," the diplomat said.
He said that dozens of new and mutually beneficial economic agreements are being discussed by the business organizations of the two countries. Agakhanov calls a model of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the individual subjects of the Russian Federation such as St. Petersburg, Astrakhan, Sverdlovsk region, Tatarstan, Altai and others as "unprecedented".
Turkmen diplomat stressed that the dynamics and productivity of the Turkmen-Russian dialogue has increased significantly.
"The process is based on the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries, the common stages of historical development. On the other hand, the ideas of mutually beneficial economic and humanitarian cooperation, initiated by the Turkmen President and supported by the Russian leadership got new content.
