The freighter Olga-1, flying under the Cambodian flag, was detained near the fourth berth of the Poti port on December 9 due to pollution of the Black Sea, the Georgian Border Police told Trend.
According to the information, captain Viktor Burda was fined to the amount of 65,000 lari. The fine worth 46.10 lari was fined for causing environmental damage.
The captain of the vessel Clipper Tarpon, flying under the Bahamian flag, Huang Xia Feng paid a fine worth $ 50,000 lari to the Georgian budget. The ship got permission to float freely.
Clipper Tarpon was detained by the Coast Guard in the Poti port for violating the navigation rules on Dec. 2.
