Azerbaijani Insurers' Association (AIA) doesn't consider reducing the amount of annual membership fees of insurance companies to the association, AIA head Azer Aliyev said on Tuesday.
"Of course insurers' dissatisfaction regarding the amount of membership dues, which amount to 5,000 manat exists, which is associated with the association's activity in the past," Aliyev said.
According to him, not enough active work of the association was due to external circumstances and domestic problems. However, at present, he said, AIA is actively working to address the existing problems.
Aliyev said that the current amount of the annual membership dues to AIA (in 2009 it was reduced to 4,000 manat due to lower amounts of the insurance market, and in 2010 it increased again) are not so great, besides all of these funds are directed for maintenance of the association and holding favorable activity on insurance in the country.
According to the AIA head, some insurers are dissatisfied with the single level of the membership fees, as the volume of fees of the company differ.
"Given this fact, in the future the association will take steps to resolve this problem by studying international experience in this sphere," Aliyev said.
Azerbaijan has 27 insurance and one reinsurance company. All companies are members of the AIA. Association membership fee is 5,000 manat. Azerbaijan Insurers' Association was established in December 2006.
