The rates of imported cigarettes rose by 0.2-0.3 Georgian lari ($1 = 1.77 lari) in Georgian retail trade, with the importing company Omega increasing prices from Jan. 9.
Earlier, Parliament cigarettes cost 3.50 lari, while presently they cost 3.80 lari, with some brands costing 4 lari. Comet cigarettes cost 1.60 compared to the old price of 1.40 lari.
The importers said that after Georgian cigarettes rose in price, it is completely logical to increase prices on imported products.
The trading network said that only Omega has increased prices on cigarettes.
