Georgian PM: IMF positively assesses Georgia’s economic policy

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has positively assessed Georgia's economic policy, the results of economic growth in 2010 and state budget forecasts for 2011, the Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri said about it at a governmental meeting on Thursday, commenting on the IMF decision to allocate $153 million to Georgia.

"The International Monetary Fund approved reduction of our budget deficit. In particular, in 2011 it hits 4.3 percent compared to GDP, in 2009 this figure was at 9.2 percent, and in 2010 - six percent. Proceeding from it we have received loan that the country needs at this stage, but we will use these means, when we will need it," Gilauri said.
