The total amount of production in the livestock sector increased by 6.1 percent in 2010 compared to last year in Azerbaijan. The total agricultural production as a whole dropped by 2.2 percent on an annual basis, the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan said.
In 2010, Azerbaijan produced 440,000 tons of meat of livestock and poultry, 1529.2 thousand tons of milk, 1178.6 million eggs, and 15,600 tons of wool.
Compared to 2009, meat production grew by 7.1 percent, milk by 6.7 percent, wool by 2.4 percent, and eggs decreased by 2.5 percent.
