The North-Caucasian Railway, which is a branch of the OJSC Russian Railways, is working to normalize the movement of trains between Russia and Azerbaijan, the company told Trend.
A new mode of operation in Dagestan suggests demurrage of both passenger and freight trains at the Derbent-Artesian site from 18:00 to 06:00, CJSC Azerbaijan Railways Spokesman Nadir Azmammadov said.
The Russian Railways said the regime has been introduced recently in connection with the frequent explosions on the railway in Dagestan. But despite that, at present, the work is underway to address the issue of facilitating this process.
The North-Caucasian Railway refused to comment on the work conducted in this direction, and timing of return to the previous mode of operation in the movement of trains between Azerbaijan and Russia.
Azmammadov said currently the Russian Railways is working to facilitate the inspection process and tomorrow Azerbaijan Railways will be notified of the results.
In particular, Azmammadov said, the Moscow- Baku route, which was supposed to arrive in the capital at 08:00, will arrive at 10:00.
In 2010, several bombings of trains and railways occurred in Dagestan. The JSC Azerbaijan Railways previously said that frequent explosions significantly affected the passenger traffic in the direction of Russia.
