AccessBank, together with the Azerbaijan Thalassemia Society organized a blood donation drive for children with Thalassemia, as part of AccessBank's Corporate Social Responsibility program. The Azadliq branch of the Bank was turned into a blood donation center for the day. Seven physicians from the Blood Transfusion Institute checked visiting donors, taking and analyzing their blood. In addition to organizing the event, AccessBank also provided refreshments for donors, making sure they had a safe and comfortable experience while donating blood. During the day, 60 staff volunteered to donate blood, from cashiers and employees of the Customer Service Department up to the Chairman of the Bank.
Some of the volunteers were donating for the first time, while others were "regular" participants, like Elnur Mehdiyev, Head of Small and Medium Enterprise loans for the Azadliq branch. He said: "I would be very happy if my blood extends or, in the best case, saves the life of a child. I am a dedicated supporter of such campaigns as through these actions, we participate in the life of people who need our support. We should not forget that this is our responsibility as human beings."
Andrew Pospielovsky, General Manager of AccessBank, commenting on the drive said: "By organizing events like this, we participate in the life of Azerbaijan's communities.
