Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey are discussing the possibility of a joint business forum in the summer, Georgia's Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Vera Kobalia said Monday in an interview with Trend during her one-day visit to Azerbaijan.

"Today we discussed this issue with the Economic Development Minister of Azerbaijan. It will be a common Turkish-Azerbaijani-Georgian business forum, where there will be an opportunity to discuss specific areas of cooperation and the possibilities of the three countries", said Kobalia.

According to her, this forum will provide an opportunity to negotiate with a view to establish cooperation in such areas as tourism, agriculture, transport and energy.

"There is already an offer from Turkey and we hope that in the middle of summer it will be possible to choose the exact date and place to meet and discuss concrete projects", she said.

Regarding the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia, Kobalia said that the maximum diversification of economy is very important for Georgia, so future projects that the countries would work over would affect all areas.

"In our region close cooperation between countries is necessary to obtain concrete results", she said.

According to her, Azerbaijan is one of the biggest trade partners of Georgia, and holds the second position on this indicator after Turkey.

"In the meetings [Monday in Baku] with the Ministers of Transport, Economic Development, Culture and Tourism we all noted that the relations that exist today between Azerbaijan and Georgia are strong, both politically and economically. About 200 Azerbaijani companies operate in Georgia. Their activities varies from transport to tourism. There are opportunities for growth", said the minister.
