Baku to host first meeting of Central Eurasian Banking Federation founders

Baku will host the first meeting of the founders of the Central Eurasian Banking Federation in late May, the Azerbaijani Association of Banks said.

"The issues of strengthening regional cooperation in finance and banking, as well as cooperation among federation members over the next several years will be discussed," the association said.

According to the information, the meeting will be held on May 26-27.

The Azerbaijani Justice Ministry registered the Central Eurasian Banking Federation in August 2010. The founders of the federation are the associations of banks of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine. The federation members are Belarus, Tajikistan and Turkey.

The headquarters of the Central Eurasian Banking Federation is in Baku. The federation will include the Association of Banks of Central Europe, Central Caucasus and Central Asia. They will jointly develop a policy of developing the banking and monetary systems.
