The IV Astana Economic Forum on the topic "Global challenges and prospects of development: ways to mutual progress" has been launched on Tuesday.

Astana Economic Forum is an international dialogue platform for the development of mechanisms for global financial system, business development promotion, integration process, international cooperation, innovation application and investment attraction.

The Forum designed for 2 days, includes 18 events in three major directions: global economics and finance, business and investment, society and sustainable development, the organizers reported. Overall more than 3,000 people are participating in the event.

Among the speakers is ex-president of Croatia Stepan Mesic, ex-president of Bolivia Jorge Kiroga, the Nobel Prize laureates in economy John Nash, Robert Mandell, Roger Kornberg, James Mirrlis, Finn Kidland.

One of the sessions of the Forum will be devoted to economic characteristics of tourism in the modern world. The participants will discuss increasing the competitiveness of the tourism industry through mutually beneficial cooperation between public and private sectors, investment cooperation in the field of tourism, exchange of experience in international cooperation, international projects in tourism, as well as to ensure stable growth of state income and population.

Participants will also debate on the issue of food security in Central Asia. Aggravation of the world food problem in the 21st century is mainly due to higher population growth compared with the growth of production rates, as well as global climate change.

Forum will also include a round table discussion on state regulation of economy and modernization of quasi-public sector for the development of economic potential.

In addition, the Eurasian Business Congress is planned to be held, which will focus on expanding mutually beneficial trade, economic ties and development of investment cooperation in Eurasia.
