An Azerbaijani delegation led by Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustafayev participated in the 20th annual meeting of the EBRD Board of Directors, held in Astana on May 20-21, the ministry said.
Mustafayev spoke about the reforms conducted in the country. He said that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to enhancing the cooperation with international financial institutions, including the EBRD. It appreciates the projects involving the bank. Minister invited the EBRD to increase private sector support.
During the visit, the minister also met with the EBRD president Thomas Mirow. They discussed the areas of cooperation and expansion of the EBRD's activities in priority areas of the country's economy.
The delegation met and discussed the prospects of cooperation with the European Investment Bank, Turkish and Swiss delegations, as well as the City Bank and Mitsubishi Bank.
