Intellectual traffic management systems in Baku will be launched in September, Azerbaijani Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov said on Thursday.
A representative of the Transport Ministry told earlier that the cost of creation of intellectual traffic management system in Baku city increased from $77 million to about $100 million.
He said the increase in the project cost is connected with the expansion of its coverage, increasing its directions.
Within the system it is planned to create about 639 sites for buses, about 140 sites for taxi. These activities are conducted jointly with the traffic police and Korean specialists, who are involved in the preparation of the intellectual system.
Intellectual system involves the installation of about 150 electronic traffic lights.
