In January-May, about 20,840 cars were imported to Azerbaijan. It is 14.8 percent more than the same period last year, the State Statistics Committee said.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the total value of cars imported in January-May amounted to about $206.1 million, or 35.7 percent more than in January-May of 2010.
Some 1.875 trucks were imported to Azerbaijan, or 4.5 percent more than in January-May last year. The total value of imported cars totaled more than $35.5 million or 6.9 percent less than last year.
During the report period, the country imported 234 buses, or 38.6 percent less than in January-May last year. Buses worth $10.4 million were imported in January-May, or 48.9 percent less than the same period last year.
About 383 trucks were produced in Azerbaijan in January-June, or 39.3 percent more than in January-June last year. During this period, about 172 cars were produced, or 20 percent less than the same period last year.
