Azerbaijani population's nominal income jumps

The average monthly salary in Azerbaijan as of the first half of 2011 amounted to 351,300 manat, which is 10.7 percent more than 2010, the State Statistics Committee said.

The highest salary was recorded in the extractive industries, in the spheres of finance, information and communications, scientific and technological activities, as well as in the construction sector.

The nominal income per capita amounted to 1.495.8 manat, which is 15.5 percent more than the figure of the last year. Real cash income per capita amounted to 1.372.9 manat with a growth of 16.8 percent.

During the reported period, the nominal incomes of the population in Azerbaijan amounted to 13.489.2 billion manat, which is 17 percent more than last year. Real money incomes of population during this period reached 12.380.5 billion manat, increasing by 18.3 percent.

The population directed 67.5 percent of personal incomes to purchase of goods and services, 8.2 percent - payment of taxes, social insurance and mandatory dues, and 22.6 percent - the accumulation and capital increase.

The official exchange rate is 0.7864 manat to $1 on July 16.
