Iran to export more than $14 billion in petrochemical products

Iran 's Oil Ministry plans to export over $14 billion in petrochemical products this solar year (started on March 20, 2011), SHANA reported, quoting the Deputy Oil Minister Abdolhossein Bayat as saying.

"More than 10.2 million tons of petrochemical products produced during the first three months of the current solar year and more than $14 billion petrochemical products will be exported to other countries by the end of the current solar year", he said.

In the first three months of this year, Iran exported 4.1 million tons of petrochemical products worth $3.1 billion, indicating a 29 percent growth compared to the same period during the last solar year.

He noted that the ministry is negotiating to attract $7 to $8 billion from the Iranian National Development Fund to boost the petrochemical industry.
