Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree "Tourism support and development in Turkmenistan", the Turkmen official source said.

The President stressed that the state creates the necessary conditions to stimulate tourism.

"Turkmenistan's geographical location, developed transport and communications system, rich recreational resources, unique natural and historical monuments open the most favorable prospects for tourism development," the president said.

Turkmenistan is rich in natural and historical sightseeing.

Turkmenistan's tourism partners are companies from Russia, France, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Latvia, US, Australia, UAE, Iran, China, South Korea, the CIS countries, etc.

At present, Turkmen state and individual tour companies signed over 300 cooperation agreements with foreign partners.

The tourism industry plays a special role in the strategic plans of the country.

The Avaza resort can be an example for this. Tax and customs privileges are granted to investors, firms, and companies.

Turkmenistan has announced a series of international tenders for constructing facilities and structures designed for tourism, sports, recreation, health, and other public purposes.

A new airport, a power station, desalination and water treatment plants have already been built in Avaza. A number of sanatoria facilities have been recently commissioned. Water parks, yacht clubs, an oceanarium, indoor ski complex, cycle track, and casino-city will be constructed as part of the second stage of Avaza development.
