Personal Representative of Bahrain's king and chairman of the supreme committee organising Bahrain International Airshow 2012 Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa headed a meeting at Al Sakhir Airbase to discuss preparations for the event from January 10 to 21.
He stressed the importance to inviting giant companies to take part and providing them with incentives and facilities, Gulf Daily News reported.
Companies which have confirmed their participation include European Airbus, American Gulf Stream, Canadian Bombardier and American Boeing.
Shaikh Abdulla also asked the panel to invite official, military, civilian delegations from friendly and sisterly countries as well as business leaders and journalists from all over the world.
Plans to ensure the safety of citizens and visitors and safety procedures for civilian and military aircraft during the show were also discussed.
Shaikh Abdulla said sales during the show are expected to exceed $5 billion (BD1.89bn).
