As of Oct. 6, 2011, 90 percent of the harvested area of cereals has been harvested in Kazakhstan milled at 24 million tons of grain in bunker weight with yields of 16.5 quintals per hectare, which is 7.7 tons per hectare more than 2010, the press service of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Agriculture reported on Friday.

"Because of weather conditions, harvesting delayed this year, and is in high humidity conditions, and expected crop yields are almost 1.5 times greater than last year's level," said the statement.

Kazakhstan has 217 licensed grain-enterprises with a capacity of about 13.6 million tons, while the agricultural enterprises have a capacity of storing 8.9 million tons of grain.
The total amount of available containers for storing grain is 22.5 million tons, which is sufficient to store the incoming grain.
