Int'l labour organization to hold poll

The International Labour Organization will hold a poll to examine the Azerbaijani labor market in 2012, deputy director of the organization's regional office for Europe and Central Asia, Alena Nesporova said during a meeting with Azerbaijani Minister of Labour and Social Protection Fizuli Alakbarov on Thursday, the ministry said.

"The International Labour Organization will present Azerbaijan a package of proposals on employment policy by late 2011," a statement said.

Minister said that Azerbaijan continues expanding its cooperation with the International Labour Organization.

"About 950,000 new jobs have been created in the country for the last eight years," the statement said. "The unemployment rate reduced to 5.5 percent. In particular, youth unemployment rate is lower compared to other countries."
