Turkey has performed 35 percent of the activities in the construction of a 76-kilometer stretch of railway along the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars route, the Turkish newspaper Haberturk reported.
Some 290 million Turkish lire have been spent for the construction of the Turkish segment.
A tender worth 700-750 million Turkish lire will be announced for the remainder of the building activities.
A new 105-kilometer railroad branch will be constructed as a part of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway. About 76 kilometers will stretch via Turkey, and 29 kilometers through Georgia.
