"Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" (Kazakhstan Railways) performed the cargo turnover plan by 103.4 percent in the first 10 months of 2011, the company reported.
The cargo transportation volume in Jan.-Oct. rose by 4.7 percent compared to the same period of 2010 and amounted to 229,090 tones.
Cargo loading in this period increased by 4.4 percent compared to the same period of 2010 to 204, 418 tones. The increase is linked with the increased loading of coal, ferrous metals, building materials, chemical and mineral fertilizers, iron and ore.
The loading plan was implemented by 102.0 percent.
This year, passenger traffic amounted to 12,150 million passengers per km and rose by 5 percent compared by the same period of 2010.
