Ukraine can become an integral link between Kazakhstan and the West, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, who is on an official visit to Astana, said in an interview with Trend.
"Today there is a historic agreement to establish a free trade zone within the CIS, which opens great prospects. Moreover, Ukraine is on the verge of concluding a similar agreement with the EU. Thus, we will confirm opportunity of Ukraine to become an integral link between Kazakhstan and the West," Azarov said.
He said the purpose of his visit to Astana is to give a substantial impetus to fulfillment of agreements reached in 2010 by both countries' presidents.
"First, we are talking about implementing mutually beneficial joint projects in energy, aerospace and agricultural sector," he stressed.
As Azarov said, special attention will be paid to the Kazakh side's participation in the implementation of the program "Dnepr" and other space programs, as well as enhancing joint actions in the grain market.
"In addition, we are interested in Kazakhstan's experience in attracting foreign investments.
Astana Economic Forum and the May meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Astana demonstrated a high level of investment attraction to the Kazakh economy," Azarov underlined.
