Turkey's economy expands by 17.4 percent

Turkey's GDP for the third quarter increased by 17.4 percent compared to the same period in 2010, reaching 348.802 billion lire, the Turkish Statistics Institute reported on Monday.

Turkey's economy grew by 8.2 percent amounted to 31.29 billion lire in constant price in the third quarter of 2011.

The current account deficit of Turkey increase to $31.512 billion in January-October 2011, compared to the same period in 2010, amounting to $65.057 billion.

Official exchange rate in Dec 12 is 1.8 TRY/USD
