EBRD determines priority sectors for financing in Kyrgyzstan

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) determined agriculture and banking as the priority sectors for financing in Kyrgyzstan in 2012-2013, KyrTAG quotes Masaru Honma, EBRD director for Central Asia on Wednesday as saying.

Honma said the development of this two sectors guarantees economic stability of the country. The EBRD will finance major projects on the improvement of urban infrastructure in Kyrgyzstan. They will be implemented in Bishkek, Jalal-Abad as well as in Kant, Talas and Narin.

The EBRD allocated $28 million in 2010 to two Kyrgyz banks and two microcredit organizations for crediting the country's population in national currency, Honma said, stressing that this year the organization plans to increase the credit portfolio in Kyrgyzstan.

According to Honma, the EBRD allocated a total of $75 million to Kyrgyzstan in 2011 year.
