SOCAR completes employee medical insurance by March

The Azerbaijani Paşa Sığorta insurance company will complete the signing of voluntary health insurance policies with all SOCAR structures before the March 1, 2012, CEO Nofel Rzayev told Trend on Thursday.

"We have been negotiating with SOCAR for the past 15 years. We began to insure some of the workers from Jan.1, and the rest will be done by March 1," Rzayev said.

Rzayev noted that such cooperation will be important for the company in the future and for its positioning on the market.

Leading oil companies attract employees to health insurance to improve their medical care, SOCAR said.

SOCAR transferred a number of sites previously on the balance of the company to a number of government agencies and electricity and water production and distribution operators in 2011.

SOCAR includes the Azneft production association, the Azerkimya industrial association and the Azerigaz industrial association.

SOCAR is the only oil product producer in the country and also has gas stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Ukraine. SOCAR is the co-owner of the Turkish petrochemical complex Petkim. The company carries out oil trading in various regions through SOCAR Trading.

Pasa Sıgorta, a member of the Pasa Holding, was registered on March 3, 2006. It provides services to corporate and individual clients on 30 types of insurance. The authorized capital amounts to 30 million manat. Pasa Sıgorta is a leader in terms of the capitalization volume in country's insurance market.

The official exchange rate on Feb.2 is 0.7863 AZN/USD.
