Officials at Azerbaijan Railways are to investigate the cause of a derailment of wagons carrying oil products through the Hajigabul region, Azerbaijan last night, a spokesman for the company Nadir Azmammadov said today.
No one was injured or oil spilled and the incident didn't impact on the rail network as it was being held in a siding. The cargo with gas oil was being transported to the Georgian port of Batumi and is owned by Kazakh shippers.
Mr Azmammadov said the two derailed wagons have been lifted back on to the rails and the train will continue its journey soon.
