Minister: Azerbaijan to start e-payment of taxes after signing collective agreement with banks

Azerbaijan has completed preparatory work associated with applying electronic services to ensure payment of due taxes and state using the Internet, Azerbaijani Taxes Minister Fazil Mammadov said in Baku addressing the forum on ’Tax System in Azerbaijan: realities and perspectives’, on Thursday.

Azerbaijan has completed preparatory work associated with applying electronic services to ensure payment of due taxes and state using the Internet, Azerbaijani Taxes Minister Fazil Mammadov said in Baku addressing the forum on 'Tax System in Azerbaijan: realities and perspectives', on Thursday.

"The system will start operating after signing collective agreements with banks and other relevant agencies," Mr Mammadov said. He added that payment of taxes and state dues via a mobile phone will soon be possible as well.

"Activities in servicing taxpayers are also expanding. Restructuring of tax terminals to serve taxpayers in e-service centres is envisaged to ensure public awareness of electronic services and expanding their use," he said.

Mr Mammadov said that from July 1, 2011 until now, 13,393 transactions had used number of entries registered during this period at the tax authorities.
