Industrial output amounted to about $4 billion in Azerbaijan in January

Industrial production output [produced goods and rendered services of industrial character] in Azerbaijan amounted to 3.06 billion manat in January 2012, which corresponds to the same figure in 2011, the State Statistics Committee told Trend on Thursday.

The share of private sector decreased by 1.3 percent, reaching 81.9 percent of total industrial production in January 2012. At the same time 92.4 percent accounts for the production of industrial products, 7.6 percent for industrial services.

Production in non-oil industrial sector increased by 14.4 percent.

The volume of production in the mining industry decreased by 2.8 percent, amounting to 2.4 billion manat with weight of 77.9 percent of total industrial production during the reporting period. The volume of oil produced during the reporting period amounted to 3.9 million tones (a decrease for the year by 4.5 percent), while natural gas production - 1.6 billion cubic meters (an increase by 32.9 percent).

Manufacturing output amounted to 485.1 million manat, increase by 7.9 percent.
Significant increase was observed in the manufacture of computers and other electronic equipment (by 15.8 times), furniture (by 3.4 times), fabricated metal products (by 95.8 percent), metallurgy (by 84.6 percent), rubber and plastic products (by 75.4 percent), the garment industry (by 57.2 percent), and so on.

Also, there was an 8.5 percent increase in food production.

Production of sausage products in the country increased by 14.4 percent to 247.5 tones, of liquid vegetable oil by 1.6 times (3.5 tons) of margarine by 1.6 times (3 thousand tons) of sugar by 2.3 time (43.3 tons).
