Schneider Electric provides electrical equipment to Turkmenistan

The French company Schneider Electric provides electrical equipment to Turkmenistan, Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper said on Friday.

A powerful 110-kV substation equipped with the facilities of the company Schneider Electric is built in the northern part of Ashgabat.

Work on the construction of overhead power lines in residential areas to the north of the capital implemented by local production association Ashgabatenergo and state concern Turkmenenergostroy.

A new electric network with voltage of 6-10 kV and a total length of 7 km is built at the Garadamak and Shore villages.

According to experts of Ashgabatenergo high-quality equipment of the European standard which is comfortable in operation will allow more efficient use of electricity and maximize the power supply of the population.

Ashgabatenergo continues to build a new transmission line with capacity of 6 kV at the northern part of the capital

Schneider Electric is a global leader in the manufacture of electrical equipment and automation equipment, providing a wide range of products and services to key market segments such as electricity, construction and industrial infrastructure.

It was reported earlier that Schneider Electric has signed an agreement with the Government of Turkmenistan on the energy supply of Ashgabat city (population 600,000) in the frame of the consortium with Belgian Enex.

The project is aimed at improvement of the quality and reliability of energy and response to growth in energy consumption due to the dynamic development of Ashgabat. Schneider Electric will conduct engineering studies, to supply equipment and provide oversight in the process of modernizing the energy grid of the capital.
The project is planned to implement in three phases until 2017. The project cost is estimated at 1.3 billion euros.
