During a recent governmental meeting, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on measures to create economic zones, the Turkmen government said on Monday.

'The Turkmen President focused on the issues of taking measures to create economic zones, industrial parks, to develop and introduce innovation in all areas, increase jobs and regular forecasts and justify the need for highly qualified personnel in various sectors of the economy', a statement said.

The innovative entrepreneurship is directly related to the development of special hubs and in particular free economic zones which are to be located in local areas with a special economic and legal preferential management.

Turkmenistan has already seen the benefits having worked at Avaza tourist resort being built near the Caspian Sea coast.

Moreover, there is an industrial park being created in the Bikrova settlement, located near the capital of Turkmenistan. Scientific research will be an important focus in the innovative areas.

Conditions will be created to conduct the research on the active use of alternative energy sources (solar, wind) and to master nanotechnologies.
