The business activity index on the Uzbek industrial sector has increased by 10.3 points in February compared to 60.4 points in January, the State Antimonopoly Committee said.
The index was 54.1 points in January and 65.6 points in December 2011.
The projected figure for February was 69.5 points.
The main factors are the beginning of executing the contractual obligations to supply goods and raw materials, the implementation of new contracts for 2012, growth in exports.
There is a significant increase in mechanical and electrical engineering - by 26.7 points, agriculture, water economy and production of consumer goods - by 10.3 points, capital construction and building industry - by 10 points, energy complex, chemical, oil, gas and metallurgical industries - by 10.6 points.
The index of business activity of the industrial sector is calculated proceeding from a poll of 100 large and medium industrial enterprises.
The index is calculated from five key indices, such as new orders, production and sales volumes, employment, and the remains of the finished products.
