Georgian foreign trade turnover with the CIS amounted to $419 million in January-February 2012 (five percent more than last year), National Statistical Service of Georgia told Trend on Friday.
According to the information $140 million of this amount accounts for export (32 percent increase) and $280 million for import (four percent increase).
The share of CIS countries in total foreign trade turnover of Georgia is 31 percent, including in exports - 45 percent, imports - 27 percent (34, 36 and 33 percent respectively in 2011). Nineteen percent of the trade deficit accounts for the CIS countries (32 percent in January-February 2011).
The rate of negative trade balance with these countries fell by 25 percent in January-February 2012 compared to same period last year.
